Kai Hansen 02

Kai Hansen again. Since I got a little better at doing Portraits I decided to give it another try. Sadly it´s hard to get good Images of that man, and it´s even worse if you search for a resolution high enough to work with. He´s been a founding Member of Helloween, who released two highly successful Albums entitled "Keeper of the seven Keys Part I & II" in the late 80s. Influenced by Bands such as Metallica and Iron Maiden, Helloween were among the first Bands to really establish Heavy Metal in the German Scene. Checking the credits in their booklets, I noticed that most of the Songs I love were composed by a guy named Kai Hansen... I googled him for a while, discovered Gamma Ray (the Band he founded after leaving Helloween), lot´s of other projects he participated in and all I can say is; everything he touches turns into music I love. It´s the rough and punkish attitude, although it´s mostly very melodic stuff he comes up with. It has to do with his Voice I think. It´s always a little rough and very unique, carrying that special vibe. Often criticised, even among fans who appreciate his skills as a guitarist or composer - but I simply love it because it´s so cheeky and cool! ---> [link]

Besides being an awesome musician, he seems to be a really nice and humble guy and I´ll keep trying to improve at drawing, so that I can do a really good visual tribute to him one day!
